Playful gift shop + art gallery 'for the young at heart'; focus on California and West Coast artists and brands. Won't carry lines already sold elsewhere in Eagle Rock (90041).
Merci Milo
Small family-owned shop of handmade, unique toys and accessories for children from local artisans, traditional toy makers, 'creative mamas' and global brands.
Heads up: Still an LA shop: the Highland Park store at 6017 Echo Street is open daily.
LAKE
Boutique since 2007 'committed to bringing independent artisans into our neighborhood': gifts, natural apothecary, clothing and jewelry.
Markt LA
Women's clothing, shoes, jewelry and bags from independent designers; new items in-store daily.

North Figueroa Bookshop
General-interest bookstore run by LA publishers Rare Bird and Unnamed Press; connects the independent publishing community with readers in Highland Park, Glassell Park and Eagle Rock.
WACKO / Soap Plant
Pop-culture gift and book emporium with the La Luz de Jesus art gallery inside (gallery submissions go to [email protected]).
re_ grocery
Refill grocery store fighting plastic packaging; looks for sustainable, thoughtfully made products. Also has a Studio City location.
Shout and About
Gift shop opened in 2015; second shop in Carlsbad (opened 2022). Owner-run.
